BBC SPORT | Football | Europe | Coleman blames president for exit

Former Fulham boss Chris Coleman has resigned as manager of Spanish Second Division side Real Sociedad.

The Welshman has stepped down less than a week after stating he would be staying at the club following a meeting with new president Inaki Badiola.

“Things have changed with the arrival of Badiola because there are now two different ways of seeing the club and of working,” added Coleman.

Sociedad made a slow start following Coleman’s appointment last summer but they now lie fifth in the Segunda Division after a run of just one defeat in the last 11 matches, just a point off the promotion places.

Badiola was duly elected and his ideas for running the club included the addition of a number of new players that he had already pinpointed – a policy which did not sit well with Coleman.

FBI wants instant access to British identity data | UK news | The Guardian

From the page: “Senior British police officials are talking to the FBI about an international database to hunt for major criminals and terrorists.

The US-initiated programme, “Server in the Sky”, would take cooperation between the police forces way beyond the current faxing of fingerprints across the Atlantic. Allies in the “war against terror” – the US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand – have formed a working group, the International Information Consortium, to plan their strategy.

Biometric measurements, irises or palm prints as well as fingerprints, and other personal information are likely to be exchanged across the network. One section will feature the world’s most wanted suspects. The database could hold details of millions of criminals and suspects.”
